Happy Wednesday!!

I hope you are having a great week. My week will be better once I get my new laptop. LOL! My laptop broke over a week ago. I have having major withdrawals. I didn't realize how much I used it. After my husband and kids go to bed, I watch TV and play my Facebook games. We are not able to fix it so I am getting a new one. Yayyyyyy!!! I can't wait. Thankfully, I still have my desktop but it isn't as convenient as the laptop.

This is the final week for Mix it Up May. This week my girls, Kaeli - 9 and Emilie - 7, were asked to come up with a sketch. They had some trouble drawing it so they decided to ask everyone to make their cards SPARKLE. Every time they make a card they have to put glitter somewhere on the card. They love a sparkly card. LOL!!

He Made Me a Card!

Hi!!

If you celebrated Mother's Day I hope you enjoyed your day. I had such a wonderful day. My husband and girls had a lot of surprises for me. Look at the bottom of my post to see a card my husband MADE for me. We went to Brookfield Zoo with my parents and my sisters and their families. It was a beautiful day. I even got sunburned. LOL! My Dad hardly ever gets to come to family events because of his job. We were so happy to have him with us.

Here is the card my husband made for me. He did such a nice job. I have always told my family I love home made cards. He usuallys buys a blank card and writes something inside it. Well, this year he completely surprised me with this beautiful card. Can you believe a guy did this????? He said this card took him all day. I want to frame it. LOL!!

Hi!

On Saturday, my girls made their First Communion. We had such a perfect day. My girls looked beautiful. Thankfully, their dresses survived the Italian dinner afterwards. LOL!! Here is a picture of my babies on their special day!!!! Looking at the picture, Kaeli is the one on the right and Emilie is on the left. My girls are only 20 months apart but they are on complete opposite ends of the growth chart. LOL!!

Hi!!

I'm so excited for this weekend. My girls are making their First Communion! It is such a big day for our family. I think my girls are more excited about wearing the dress and having their hair done. LOL! We invited some family to dinner afterwards. We are going to my Mom's favorite Italian place. Yes, I know, it's very risky taking my girls in their WHITE dresses to an Italian restaurant. LOL!! It will be interesting! They will have napkins all over their dresses just in case. :-)

Since today is Wednesday, that means it's time for The Diedrich Dare. This week Madelynn told us to make a card in Spring colors. How easy is that?? I used the sketch from FFF at The Greeting Farm for my card. I used the paper from Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients kit.

This week Nicky gave us a fun color combo to use. When I looked at this combo I thought the color was yellow. Now that I am posting it I can see it's orange. LOL!!!! I got the other colors right. I used Jessica's stamp set to make my card. :-)

Hi!!!

First I want to apologize for not commenting on blogs in the last 2 weeks. I've been so bad about that. I try so hard to make it around the blogs. My life is keeping me very busy these days. LOL!!! My goal is to make my rounds tomorrow. I am watching my friend's girls in the afternoon. That will keep my girls occupied so I will have some time. :-)

I am SO LATE getting this posted. Last week I had a wonderful time visiting Jessica and her family. We had such a nice time together. I can't wait until we can visit again. This week I have been busy helping out a friend by watching her kids. My girls have been having so much fun playing with them. Her kids are so good that I forget that they are here. LOL!! I've even had them sleep over on a school night and they still went to bed on time. Such good kids!!

Yes, I know Easter is over. LOL! My Aunt bought my girls Easter outfits for their Build-A-Bears. I wanted to use Easter Anya for her thank you card.

Hi!!!

I have this post sent for auto post because I am in TN with The Diedrich Family!!! Wooo hooo!!! I am so excited about this trip. It feels like it's been forever since we got together. When our kids were younger, we saw each other at least once a week. As they got older and involved in after school activities, we were happy with once a month. Now we will have four fun days together.

It's time for The Diedrich Dare! This week Jack gave us a fun sketch to use. This post is even more special because it is Jack and his twin brother Nicky's 8th birthday!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I used my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients for the paper and Clear Dollar Stamps for the image.

I can't believe it's been two weeks since I've posted. I've had the worst two weeks ever. But they are over and it's time to get myself together. I am really looking forward to this weekend. I am going to visit Jessica and her family for about 4 days. I can't wait to see where they live. I am really excited to see her kids too. I feel like it's been forever since we've seen each other!!

I am back to posting for the Diedrich Dare. This week I used an image from The Character Cafe. I don't have a lot of boy stamps so I was happy to use this one. Isn't he cute!?!?! Happy Wednesday!

I am going to try to keep this post short. My sinuses have been bothering me for weeks now. It doesn't seem to be getting any better. I am having trouble breathing. My ears feel like they are about to explode because of the pressure. Now I have this terrible ringing in my ears. I can't blame it on the weather. Here in Chicago, we have had such a mild winter. Sorry, I'm having a pity party today.

Hi Everyone!

I had the most relaxing last couple of days. I spend Saturday with my hubby, girls, parents, sister and nephew. It was so much fun. It's hard to get all of us to spend an afternoon together. My nephew is 7 months old. He is such a little cutie. I posted pictures on him on my Facebook page. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I didn't do much. It was soooooooo nice. I love having days like that.

Since today is Wednesday, that means it's time for the Diedrich Dare. This week 9 year old Madelynn gave us a super easy sketch to use. I used this sketch to make a card for my husband's cousin. He enlisted in the Marines and is in boot camp now. We just got the ok to send him cards. I hope this isn't too girly. LOL!!! I don't want him to get harassed. LOL!!! Hi!!

I am the featured stamper this week over at the Diedrich Dare blog! :-)

This brought a tear to my eye. Jessica's little Ava did her very first sketch for us. She is only 4 only years old and did an AMAZING job. I can't believe is she is old enough to do this. Look at how cute she wrote her name. Awwwwww!! A little side note. Jessica and I are cousins/BFFS, LOL!!! We really enjoy watching each others kids grow up. We have gone through every one of our kids milestones together. So this is a big deal for Ava. Great job Ava!!!!!! I'm so proud of you!

I am also submitting my card for the Crazy for Challenges blog. Every Saturday they post a new challenge. This week's challenge was to make a Valentine's themed card. That fit perfectly with my Diedrich Dare card.

I had such a nice family day. My girls were home from school and my husband is still off of work. We took him to physical therapy in the morning then we came home and hung out. We played games together, talked and had fun. I love days like this.

Tonight, my friend Lora and I are going to Archiver's to take a class. We are making a Glimmer Mist Album. I'm so excited to make it. I love using Glimmer Mist and the album looks so cute!! I'll post pictures on Thursday.

This week, Madelynn gave us another inspiration challenge. She picked a makeup kit from her Mom, Jessica. It was such a colorful set so I decided to make my card colorful!! :-) For today's card, I used my Fairy digi stamp from Paper Make Up Stamps. I LOVE their stamps!!!!!! SO SO CUTE! They have so many images to choose from. I used Mojo Monday 122 for my layout. I flipped the sketch to fit my stamp.

Today is Tart and Tangy Tuesday for the Rusty Pickle Digi Delight. Every Tuesday one of our design team members is going to issue a challenge. This week Heather, our awesome DT coordinator, came up with a color challenge. She challenged us to use SU Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Cameo Coral. When I first saw this I didn't think I would have the colors. I went searching through my papers to see if I had anything close. As I was searching I was beyond excited to find a SU paper pack that I bought a long time ago. In it was Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue!!! Wooo hooo!! It didn't have Cameo Coral so I found something similar. :-)

I decided to use the girl in the water digital stamp for my card. This is another stamp that reminded me of my girls. In the summer we spend almost every day in the water. Whether we are at the pool or on our boat. We love the water. The Special sentiment is from The Greeting Farm.

Hi!!

I have this post set on auto post because my family and I are in Disney World. Today we are at Magic Kingdom. This is my favorite park. I love everything about it. Seeing the castle as we walk down Main Street. I love looking at my girls faces when they meet the characters. Disney truly is the most magical place on earth!!!

This trip to Disney will be a little challenging for us. My husband is still recovering from his accident. So, we had to rent him a wheelchair. He can't do too much walking. He can't swim or go in the hot tub yet. We won't be able to do as much as we usually do. We are still happy to get away. We appreciate this time together as a family.

Resolutions!

Happy Friday!

This year I am making New Years resolutions that I planning on sticking to. LOL! I really want to get better about blogging my cards or scrapbook pages. I also want to be better about commenting on blogs. I look at blogs almost every day. I go through them so quickly. I need to take the time to make comments. I know how happy it makes me to see comments on my blog. I'm sure most people enjoy getting comments. In sticking with my resolutions, I thought I would share a project I made. I colored this cute FREE DIGI from The Greeting Farm right after Christmas. I am just now getting around to doing something with it. LOL! I plan on using this as an embellishment to my New Year's Eve scrapbooking page.

Am I the only one that has trouble coming up with titles? LOL! I can't seem to come up with anything cleaver to say. It's so boring. On a positive not, my titles are direct and to the point. This post IS for The Diedrich Dare. :-)

With that being said it is time for The Diedrich Dare. I really look forward to this day of the week. Jessica, my wonderful cousin/BFF (that's our fun title for each other), has her very talented kids draw up a sketch for us to use each week. This week I used the Ava stamp from The Greeting Farm. This stamp was made to resemble sweet little Ava, Jessica's little girl. I bought the stamp when it was release and this is the first time I've used it. I had to use it now. My family and I will be in Disney World in just a few short days. I wanted color Ava to look like Snow White. We are in Disney mode right now!!

I can't believe the holidays are over already. It went by too quickly. My girls went back to school on Monday. They are also back to all of their activities. Our fun 2 week vacation is over. :-( I guess I shouldn't complain. We are going on vacation next week. We are going to spend 8 days in Florida! I can't wait.

Christmas Caroling for The Diedrich Dare!

It's Whimsical Wednesday!!! This week 9 year old Madelynn gave us an inspiration challenge. She is really into Wizards of Waverly Place right now. She gave us a plate with Alex's picture on it to inspire us.

For my card, I used these adorable caroling penguins from The Rusty Pickle As soon as I saw them I knew I had to have them. My girls are having fun coloring and making the penguins into ornaments for our tree. Actually, I need to have them stop now. Penguins are starting to take over our tree!! LOL!!

I made this card for my husband to make him smile! I haven't talked about this but my husband was in a serious accident on 8/19/09. It's a long story but basically he was working on a pipe and touched the outside of a light fixture with his elbow and got shocked. Turns out someone wired the light fixture incorrectly. My husband received burns in his arm where the electricity entered his body. The power of the electricity threw him from a ladder down 2 flights of stairs. He blew out his ACL and Meniscus along with a lot of other things in his leg. He had 3 months of PT to strengthen the other things. On 11/19/09 he had surgery to reconstruct his ACL and Meniscus. He started running a fever of 102 Tuesday night so we have to bring him to the doctor this morning. It never ends!!

Shortly after the accident, my husband was upset that he had to cut his boating season short 2 months. Such a guy!! :-) I made this card for him to make him smile after his surgery (hopefully not depress him, LOL). I colored it similar to the color of our boat. I hand wrote the boat's name, Calypso, on it. The image is from Hanna Stamps.

I am so excited to be a part of The Rusty Pickle Digis first big release. This is a first release for me too. I love all the digis they have. I am new to digis. They are so much easier to work with than I thought. The best part is that you get to pick the size you want your image to be. You have more options with them.

My First Easel Card

I had a nice week. I hope you did too. My 7 year old daughter and I went on a field trip for Brownies. We went to a museum for a sleepover. Friday night we got a tour of the museum, did craft projects, a scavenger hunt, played games and shopped. Then we were able to pick any space in the museum to sleep. Our entire troop stayed together so we could hang out. It was such a great bonding experience for us!!

Now it's time for The Diedrich Dare. Sweet little Madelynn challenged us to make an easel card this week. I now know why Jessica is so excited about them. I had fun making this!!

On my card I used a super cute snowman from The Rusty Pickle digi store. They have so many cute images!!!

Exciting News!!!

I'm so excited!!!!! This week I was asked to be a Design Team member for The Rusty Pickle digital stamps. I quickly went to their site and fell in love with their digis. They are so cute. I wanted them all!

The first stamp I picked was a girl carrying cookies for Santa. This one was perfect for me. It made me think of my girls on Christmas Eve. They love leaving cookies and milk for Santa.

It's a Whimsical Wednesday!

I had such a good week!! I feel like I got a lot accomplished around the house. That's always a good feeling. Also, my Mom and Dad surprised us and took the girls for the weekend. Yes, the entire weekend! We were so excited. My husband and I saw a movie together. We saw The Box. It was better than I expected. Then we went out to dinner. We went to a place that didn't serve macaroni and cheese or hot dogs! Of course we missed our little angels but it was nice to have to time to ourselves.

This week I made this card for two challenges. The first is for the Diedrich Dare. We were given an inspiration challenge by 7 year old Jack. He picked these pretty mugs to inspire us. The second challenge is for Club Anya. We were asked to make a card without using pattern paper. So, I was able to combine both. :-)

One More Halloween Card!

This week, I made my card for The Diedrich Dare and Crazy 4 Challenges. Sweet Madelynn gave us a fun sketch to follow. Over at Crazy 4 Challenges they wanted us to make a Halloween card. So I was able to combine both.

I am posting my card late today. Yesterday I went to Football 101 at Soldier Field. I'm not a football fan, actually, I really don't like football. I'm not sure why I went!! LOL!! I'm so glad that I did. I had such a great time. I went with 2 of my good friends. We got a tour of the Chicago Bears locker room and we saw the field. It was so impressive. We got autographs of 7 Bears players. Sorry, I don't know who they were! Then we had a 2 hour question and answer session. For about 30 mins I wanted to lose my mind. They were talking about football plays. I had no idea what they were talking about. The rest of the time was so enjoyable. I'm so glad I went and am planning on going again next year.

This weekend my family and I went to Boo at the Zoo at Brookfield Zoo. We live by one of the best zoos!! The four of us went and my Mom. We met some friends there too (I have pictures on Facebook). The kids were able to wear their costumes. They had a haunted hayride (my girls were too scared to ride it), costume parades, and a corn maze. It made us even more excited for Halloween.

Since we are so ready for the big day I decided to make a Halloween card. This week over at the Diedrich Dare (I am the featured stamper!!) Madelynn gave us a sketch to follow. I can't cut an oval on my Cuttlebug so I had to do a circle. I moved the sentiment to the left instead of the bottom right. I also made this card for the Club Anya Mystery Monday challenge. The challenge was to make a Halloween card.

This is my second card this week! I'm having so much fun. I decided I need to do more things for myself. I set up a space for all my stuff so now I don't have any excuses. I'm going to start making more time for myself! After I stamp or scrapbook I always feel so happy.

I'm submitting this card for two challenges. The first one is Crazy 4 Challenges. I love the sketches over there so I thought I would play along this week.

The second one was for Club Anya Mystery Monday challenge by Heather Schlatter. The challenge was to follow Heather's "recipe". It said to use a sketch, 1 DSP, at least 3 colors of cardstock (I used 3), use a pattern ribbon and make it sparkle. Well, I think I accomplished that!!

Happy Wednesday!

We had another busy week. Religious Ed, Brownies, cheer practices, game, cheer competition, birthday party, and a visit to Grandma's!

Last week Kaeli, my 9 year old daughter, (yikes I can't believe she is 9 already) cheered at her last football game for the season. This is always a sad time for her. She has to wait until summer to start cheering again. Emilie, my 7 year old, started hip hop classes. Kaeli will start next week. Activities are changing for my girls but it stays the same for me. I still get the "pleasure" of driving them around! I LOVE Wednesdays for two reasons. One because I get to participate in the challenge and two because this is the only day we don't have anything to do. YAYYYYY!!!!

This week I am participating in two challenges. The first is for the Diedrich Dare. Seven year old Jack gave us a map for inspiration. As soon as I saw it I knew I had to use the Matey set from the Greeting Farm again. We are welcoming a new team member, Randi Wall.

I am also submitting my card for Farm Fresh Fridays. The challenge was to make a card without any frills. No ribbons, flowers or lace. Nothing too girlie. Every week I look at the challenge and want to participate. Then I get too intimidated by the amazing talent out there. Well, I decided I'm just going to submit it. It can't hurt, right!?!?! My goal is to make two more cards this week for two other challenges.

It's Wednesday! Time for The Diedrich Dare!

I love Wednesdays! I had such a crazy busy week. It felt good to sit down and do something for myself. I was able to get in some scrapbooking too. I completed two albums. I did an album for Easter 2009. I also did one for our family fishing trip (by family I mean my husband and girls. I really don't like to fish. I was only close enough to take pictures.) and our family reunion. I felt like I got a lot done considering my week!!

This week's challenge is by the super sweet Madelynn. This little 9 year old is so talented. I was excited to use the Cute Troop stamp set by The Greeting Farm. My cousin, Jessica, gave it to me for my birthday! I LOVE this set. My girls have been in Daisys/Brownies for about 3 years. I've been cookie Mom for 3 years for both troops and co-leader for about a year for my youngest troop. I will get a lot of use out of this set.

A Cute Little Frog

This week's Diedrich Dare challenge was by the talented 7 year old Nicky!! He loves frogs and wanted us to use one on our project. I didn't have a frog stamp so I cut a frog using my Cricut. I stamped the sentiment with Butterfly Wishes stamp set. I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch to make my card.

This week's sketch is from sweet little Jack. He did such a nice job creating it.

Every time I looked at the sketch I kept seeing a layout. So instead of making a card I decided to go with it and do the layout. I had some Halloween pictures from last year to scrap. I was so excited to use The Greeting Farm's Halloween set on this layout. My girls have colored so many of these cute stamps already. They were happy to see the stamps on their page. The beautiful girls on this page are my Emilie and Kaeli. :)

This weekend my daughter and I did some scrapbooking. It was fun to spend that time with her.

Whimsical Wednesdays!

Wednesday is my favorite day of the week now! I enjoy going into my craft room (my basement) and working on the challenge for the week. I really need to get more involved in other challenges. I have so much fun!!

This week I made my card for my daughter's 9th birthday which is on September 26th. She LOVES cheerleading. She would cheer everyday if she could!! This year she is cheering for the Cardinals. I made the Anya in the team colors.

I know this should be a simple task but I can't figure out how to make a circle card!! So, I had to make a square one. I will have to look at the other cards to see how to make one!!

I am SO EXCITED to post my first card to my new blog. Hopefully, I can figure it out!!

I made this card for the new challenge blog.....The Diedrich Dare. The weekly challenge has been created by three talented kids - Madelynn, Jack and Nick!!! Little Ava will have a part in this before we know it!!
